Idoia Cuesta (Donostia, Basque Country, 1969) is an artist who combines basketry and textiles. She uses artisanal techniques and organic materials to create unique pieces that reflect the identity of the raw material. Her creative process is inspired by her rural surroundings and her respect for the environment. Cuesta fuses art and artisan techniques in all her works, generating sensorial pieces full of personality. Her proposal and artistic projects have been recognised both in Spain and internationally, in exhibitions and fairs. She has even shown her pieces on the catwalk of Madrid Fashion Week and collaborated with the brand Loewe in several of its collections. Her most recent collaboration was included in the edition of the Milan Furniture Fair 2023, and In 2014 she won the National Craftsmanship Award in the product category.
