Javier Torices
about Javier Torices
Madrid, 1968
Javier Torices focuses on the maritime landscape and the capture of light his pictorial skills and talent. Torices began to look for his own path, first in abstraction and later in urban landscapes, to end up focusing his works on the sea and on the expressive and luminous possibilities it offers him. Landscapes of the high seas and also of the coast are combined with urban environments in a work that shows the mastery of the artist when it comes to capturing light and its nuances, qualities that make it one of the great hyperrealist artists of our country.
Torices has individual and collective exhibitions at a national level (Madrid, Alicante, Marbella) and an extensive list of awards and honourable mentions in contests and contests. His work is located in collections such as the European Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona, the Foundation Collection of Art and Artists of Barcelona, the Caja Segovia Collection, Axa Burgos, Caja Madrid and the Rafael Botí Plastic Arts Foundation Collection.
