about Ernesto Knorr

Vitoria, 1957

Ernesto Knorr (Vitoria, 1957) is a renowned abstract sculptor with a 46-year career, inspired by masters such as Jorge Oteiza and Eduardo Chillida. His works, ranging from monumental to smaller pieces, explore the tension between suspended volumes, the contrast between steel and emptiness, and are born from an intuitive aesthetic that seeks to convey subtle emotions.

His creations are featured in private and public collections, including museums in Aracena, Huelva, Salamanca, Alcalá de Henares, and the Royal Household, among others. He has left a lasting mark on urban landscapes with sculptures such as "Portón" in Avilés, "Árbol" in Infiesto, and "Tolerancia" in Corvera de Asturias.

Knorr combines a profound historical knowledge with a contemporary approach, making his work a dialogue between the environment and viewers, establishing himself as a key figure in Spanish abstract sculpture.
