about Michelangelo Bastiani

Florencia, 1979

Michelangelo Bastiani is a Florentine artist celebrated for his innovative fusion of technology and art, particularly through his explorations of water. Born and raised in Tuscany, he studied at Florence’s Art Institute and the Academy of Fine Arts under Maestro Gustavo Giulietti, focusing on painting and photography. His artistic career has taken him across Italy and internationally, with exhibitions in cities like Paris, London, New York, Miami, and more, including venues like the Saatchi Gallery in London and Mana Contemporary Museum in Jersey City.

Bastiani’s work is inspired by David Bohm’s holographic theory, crafting two-dimensional videos that transform into dynamic holograms within glass bottles and jars. His art combines natural phenomena such as storms, water lilies, and galaxies with interactive video projections, blending analog and digital elements. Viewers actively engage with his installations, turning passive observation into an immersive experience.

Exploring the interplay between nature and artifice, Bastiani redefines contemporary art through interactive holograms and projections, merging the real with the virtual. His work reflects the perpetual evolution of both nature and the digital world, creating a unique third dimension where art thrives.
