Inés Jimm, born in Seville in 1996, resides and works in Madrid. She holds a Master’s degree in Digital Art and Illustration (2020) and a Master’s in 2D Animation (2021) from Escuela Trazos. Her work has been exhibited at Galería Garna and the Estampa Contemporary Art Fair and has been featured in media outlets such as Yorokobu and La Razón. She has also served as a juror in digital art awards and will be invited to reimagine works from the Thyssen Collection in 2024. Her work delves into the vulnerability of deep sleep, where social roles dissolve, revealing the pure essence of existence. Through her art, she explores themes of trust, innocence, and intimacy, inviting viewers to question whether malice is possible in such a vulnerable state. Influenced by her experience as one of Spain’s first influencers, Jimm challenges stereotypes of female perfection. Her paintings capture intimate moments of those close to her, portraying them in their most liberated and unconscious state. Often, these scenes evoke discomfort in viewers, forcing them to decide whether to observe or respect the subjects' privacy. Dark circles under the eyes, a recurring motif in her work, act as an autobiographical metaphor, symbolizing the tension between the serenity of sleep and the chaos of waking. Inspired by Joaquín Sorolla’s strokes and Lucian Freud’s depth, her technique combines unfinished areas and visible sketches, reflecting the unstable nature of the conscious world.
