Art Madrid'24 – Lil Blanc

Lil Blanc

Madrid, 1993

Lil Blanc is a young Spanish artist born in 1993 who, after leaving her career in architecture, has fully dedicated herself to painting, bringing a spatial and sculptural perspective to her work. In her pieces, she plays with the perception of space and light, integrating the use of epoxy resin, which gives her works a glossy finish that interacts with the environment. The way her works reflect light and the surrounding space transforms them into almost mirror-like surfaces, where the viewer and their environment become immersed within the painting, evoking a parallel dimension.

The soft color gradations on her canvases are reminiscent of sunset skies, inspired by her own experience of watching a summer sunset. Her work is not just to be viewed but experienced, inviting reflection on time, transience, and space. Blanc’s paintings transcend two-dimensionality, appearing more like sculptures than mere canvases—a characteristic largely influenced by her architectural background.
