Gastón Lisak
Barcelona, 1989
A visual artist based in Barcelona, Gastón Lisak graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Arts from the Winchester School of Arts, University of Southampton. Between 2012 and 2014, he was awarded a scholarship for the FABRICA Research Centre, Benetton Group, in Treviso, Italy, where he spent two years. In 2018, he completed the Museography course at NODE in Berlin, Germany. In 2020, he earned a Master’s Degree in Design (MUDIC) in Barcelona and completed the Art Thinking course led by María Acaso in the same year.
Despite his young age, he has already been teaching for 10 years at ELISAVA, where he directs projects through Art Thinking.
He is currently in his third year of a PhD in Design at the Faculty of Architecture in Lisbon, where he researches the importance of object transformation to foster critical awareness.
He has participated in both solo and group exhibitions at the national and international levels, the most recent being “Lisak y Guinovart, Dialogando entre exvotos” at the Fundación Espai Guinovart, curated by Maite Machado, and “Gastón Lisak: Arqueología Mundana” curated by Mariella Franzoni.
