Born in 1989 in Spain, Luz Moreno Pinart studied design and set design at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, then at the Aalto School of Design in Helsinki where she specialized in textile fibers and finally at the École Supérieure d'Art et de Design in Reims she became interested in edible fibers. One of her masterpiece was finalist at Loewe Craft Prize 2023 and was exhibited in New York at the Noguchi Museum. It consists of thin strands of knotted paper, using techniques she learned during an artist residency in Kyoto. The result is an interconnected network in which each knot represents a moment in her life. Then it has been painted red to highlight the importance of remembrance, and the long, thin threads of paper that connect them resemble the stamen of a flower, containing the plant's pollen, representing life and growth. Her work is experimentation with natural threads that reach intertwined organic shapes. An evolution that has its origin in a deliberate archaeology of the most deeply rooted domestic elements and are projected into the future through the intervention of design and craftsmanship.
