about Cristina Moroño
Madrid, 1973
Cristina Moroño, born in 1973 in Madrid, Spain, is a versatile artist who constantly explores diverse forms of expression. Her work fuses photography, etching, engraving, collage and paper creation, moving between the figurative and the abstract. Her aim is to capture the transience of time and the ephemeral nature of our lives. Graduated with honours in printmaking from the Complutense University of Madrid, Cristina also completed a Masters in Fine Arts at the same institution. After her time in New York in 2003, she moved to Hong Kong in 2016, where she lives and develops her art. Recognised with awards such as the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando, the Joan Miró Foundation grant, the "Hotel Puerta América" award from the DeArte Foundation, and awards from the ESTAMPA Art Fair and the Madrid Critics Association, her work can be found in public and private collections around the world. With exhibitions in Europe, New York and his first exhibition in Hong Kong with Puerta Roja in 2016, his work continues to captivate international audiences.
