Art Madrid'25 – Miguel Bañuls

Miguel Bañuls

Madrid, 1969

Miguel Bañuls is one of the most important sculptors and artists in the history of Alicante. This is not only a privilege, but also a great weight and responsibility. Because, like all artists, Miguel not only has to study the concepts and complexity of the visions and techniques developed throughout the history of art from a contemporary perspective, he has also lived part of that history in his family environment. This is why his interpretation and consequent transgression is, if possible, a more committed choice. More committed. Miguel is the great-nephew of Daniel Bañuls and the great-grandson of Vicente Bañuls, the two most famous sculptors of the 19th and first half of the 20th centuries in Alicante, whose works form part of the urban landscape of many towns and villages in this province.
