Art Madrid'24 – Daniele Sigalot

Daniele Sigalot

Roma, 1976

Daniele Sigalot is a conceptual artist, whose artistic language is joyful, cynical, absurd and shocking through its content, materiality, and scale. Born in 1976 in Rome, he is artistically raised in the advertising field, where he works for seven years among several agencies in Italy, Spain and Great Britain. In 2007 he resigns from Saatchi & Saatchi London to dedicate himself full time to his artistic career. After spending 7 years in advertising without managing to convince anyone to buy things they didn’t need, Sigalot decided to move into the art world, where there is a greater need for the superfluous. So he left Saatchi&Saatchi in London to move to Berlin, where, in order not to disappoint well-established Italian stereotypes, he called his studio La Pizzeria. His works have been exhibited at the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna in Rome, Reggia di Caserta, MOAD in Miami, Palazzo Ducale in Genoa, Triennale in Milan and Palazzo Reale in Naples. In 2019 he moved La Pizzeria to Naples, where he finally found the order and organization lacking in the German capital. Yet in 2023, after 23 years spinning between Milan, Barcelona, London, Berlin and Naples, he moved back to Rome where a new bigger Pizzeria has been inaugurated on october 2023.
