Mònica Castanys Font, was born in Barcelona in 1973. She lives and works in her hometown in Sant Just Desvern. Graduated in 1993 in Pictorial Procedures by the School of Design and Art, Llotja de Barcelona. Since 2004 she has exclusively and professionally dedicated herself to the pictorial creation. Since 1998 she exhibits in various Galleries in Spain and Europe, she annually exhibits at international art fairs in Austria, France, Belgium, Sweden, Germany and this last year even in the United States, Los Angeles. Currently the technique she uses focuses on oil on wood. With a color palette that recalls the impressionist, but with an expressive line and a special taste for illuminating vital and everyday scenes, the painter offers an enigmatic cartography, fixing her gaze on the female figure.
