Art Madrid'24 – Wang Guan-Jhen
Wang Guan-Jhen
Taiwán,
Wang Guan-Jhen, born in Taiwan in 1991, earned a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the Taipei National University of the Arts in 2018. Her work explores themes of isolation and loneliness, creating an atmosphere of floating in space, where moments of warmth are engulfed by darkness. Her art reflects emotional tension beneath indifferent expressions, translating despair and loss into tender yet haunting imagery. The delicate balance between rationality and passion makes her pieces profoundly captivating.
Her solo exhibitions include Breathing Ghost (YIRI ARTS, Taipei, 2023), Breathing Ghost (Tainan Art Museum, 2022), and Strange Wind on the Road (YIRI ARTS, Taipei, 2018). Group exhibitions include Pig Don’t Fly (Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts, Taipei, 2018) and Borderline (TASKU Gallery, Helsinki, 2016). Her work is part of the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts collection.
