Art Madrid'24 – Sebas Anxo
Sebas Anxo
Cambados, 1971
Sebas Anxo's career has always been linked to paper and scissors, but also to painting. In the workshop, life piles up between walls splattered with paint, floors crammed with paper and cardboard, shelves and tables with half-started sketches and others apparently finished, brushes, pencils, scissors. There the smells of glue, turpentine or oils mark the time of the work, they are like the clepsydra that gives the measure of the process of execution in which a creation always seems unfinished, as if waiting for the unpredictable dominion of chance that definitively proposes the expected outcome. Sebastián Anxo Rozas Álvarez, Sebas Anxo, (Cambados, Pontevedra, 1971), graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Vigo and is one of the most outstanding creators of an interesting generation of artists who began their careers in the early nineties of the last century. Since then he has held numerous solo and group exhibitions, has been selected and awarded in major competitions and his work is part of prominent public and private art collections.
