Art Madrid'24 – Luis Enrique Camejo
Luis Enrique Camejo
Pinar del Río (Cuba), 1971
Graduated from the Elementary School of Art (1986) in his home province and from the Higher Institute of Art in Havana (1996), where he has been a painting teacher since 1996. He is a faithful illustrator of man and his environment, outlining images of cosmopolitan and plural cities, from La Havana to New York. Light is the protagonist in his work, the element that composes and amends the rarefied atmospheres of his landscapes, whose images seem to have, in most cases, a special relationship with the aesthetics of American film noir. It has more than a hundred exhibitions, between personal and collective, both in Cuba and abroad. His work can be found in collections in Panama, the United States, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Holland, Lebanon, Canada, France and Cuba. Among his awards is the 1st Prize of the V Nicomedes García Gómez Painting Contest, in Segovia, Spain. He lives and works in Havana.
