He studied at the School of Plastic and Applied Arts of Caracas, since his arrival in Paris in 1964, Juvenal Ravelo became interested in exploring the abstract-kinetic language then in vogue. He met and shared exhibition works with Víctor Vasarely, Julio Le Parc, Yaacov Agam and, by of course, with his friends Jesús Soto and Carlos Cruz-Diez. He was then a young student of the Sorbonne University, where he studied Sociology of Art. In the 40 years of work in Paris, they allowed him represent France at the V International Paris Biennial in 1967 and at the VI Art Museum Biennial Moderno de Paris, Venezuela pavilion in 1969. Countless exhibitions in the United States, Europe and Latin America to later obtain the National Prize for Plastic Arts of Venezuela 2008, through street participation art, his murals are found in different cities like Paris, Havana, Caracas and Istanbul. Juvenal Ravelo will represent Venezuela at the 60th Venice Biennale in April 2024.
