Art Madrid'24 – Conrado López
Conrado López
Málaga, 1992
Conrado López, born in Málaga in 1992, lives and works in Seville. After studying illustration at the José Nogué Art School in Jaén (2011-2013), Conrado developed a unique style that blends graffiti with oil painting, influenced by Impressionism. Coming from the graffiti world, he finds beauty in marginal urban spaces and everyday life, capturing seemingly simple moments with a distinctive sensitivity.
His creative process begins with a splash of colors inspired by a photograph taken with his phone, transforming the abstract into figuration. His works, positioned between abstraction and realism, evoke a solitude reminiscent of Hopper's scenes but without the characteristic drama. With impeccable technique, Conrado captures poetry in the mundane, using color and light to create calm and harmonious emotions.
Conrado's exhibitions have traveled worldwide, featuring at venues such as the MEAM Museum in Barcelona, Abend Gallery in Denver, and Goldshteyn Saatort Gallery in Paris. His work has been showcased in art fairs in Los Angeles, Lille, and Mexico City, establishing him as an emerging voice in contemporary art.
